If you like eating, you should like cooking. And if you like cooking, then you should also like doing the dishes afterward but that's another story....
Here are some of my favorite recipes. Some are old recipes that I learned from my mother but many are creations I came up with myself. I think that is the best part of cooking frequently - eventually you can't help but come up with new ideas and stumble upon something great and completely new. It's what keeps things interesting and fun. So with that said, feel free to try any of these yourself. I hope you enjoy them and if you would like, feel free to let me know how things turned out.
Omelet de Pali - What could make French Toast better? Salt pork!
Liver Lover - Don't like liver? Try this and you'll love it!
Vadas - This is a traditional Hungarian dish usually consisting of gamey meat in a nice carrot based sauce. One of the first things I learned how to cook.
Lamb Chops con 'take - Even if you think you don't like lamb, give this a try and you'll be a convert!
Hour Ribs are Better than Yours - Ribs in an hour? Impossible! For mere mortals, it's true... but for my mom, it's a piece of cake and there's time to spare.
Sweet Potato Pals - This is a creation of mine that can serve equally well as an appetizer or a main course. Totally vegetarian and great on a cold winter's day.
Catfish Soup - Made this one up based on what I thought Halászlé (traditional Hungarian fish soup) would be. Awesome winter meal.
Eggplant & Peppers - This is a great summer time recipe that can be served either hot or cold.
Pasta & Beats - Another great side that can be served either hot or cold.
Strawberry Rhubarb Pie - My mother's pie crust paired with some of my favorite fruit as a filling... can't beat it with a nice scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
